SETTING UP GIFT CARDS

Watch the video tutorial here. Go to Settings > Website and Marketing > Pages and select the page where the Gift Card Sales Widget will be added. The widget can also be added to its own page if preferred.

Add the Gift Card Sales Widget by clicking the button labelled “ADD SECTION” and select it from the Type dropdown menu.

Gift Card Widget (with Gift Cards added)

Gift cards need to be added to the widget to display like the image above. To do this, click the button labelled “ADD GIFT CARD SALE”. This will bring up the option to add a name, amount, and custom image associated with the gift card. If a custom image is not chosen, the gray placeholder image will be used.

Creating a new Gift Card

As well as a fixed amount, theaters can create gift cards with custom amounts. This allows customers to set their own amount for gift cards. To set this up, the Custom toggle switch needs to be on, as well as a minimum and maximum amount provided.

View and Download A Record of Gift Card Transactions

Theaters can export a CSV file of gift cards and balances from the INDY Admin Tool. Go to Operations > Exports > Gift Cards. The file is set to automatically download when this page is accessed.

Theaters can also look up a gift card associated with a specific member or bought on a specific date. Go to Operations > Customers > Orders. Click on the tab Gift Card to see all gifts cards, or filter to Online Gift Cards if required.

Please note that only gift card receipts can be resent from the INDY Admin Tool. To look up and resend gift card emails to the recipient, log into CustomerIO and access the Deliveries & Drafts tab. Filter results to Email channel, then filter again only to show gift card emails. Select the email that needs to be resent and a Resend button will appear.

SETTING UP VOUCHERS

Watch the video tutorial here. Create a new voucher by logging into the Indy Admin tool and visiting Settings > Promotions > Voucher Types. The button labelled “ADD VOUCHER TYPE” creates a new voucher.

  • Under the Details tab: add voucher name, specify whether it is for a ticket, item (e.g. Popcorn) or specific item (e.g. Large Popcorn). Set the max value (maximum amount customer can redeem).

  • Under the Styles tab: add description and custom image for voucher. This will be displayed both in the store and email sent.

  • Under Redemptions tab*: To sell the voucher, For Sale must be switched on and a price needs to be set.

Give customers the ability to buy vouchers online. Go to Settings > Website and Marketing > Pages and select the page where the Voucher Sale Widget will be added.

Add this widget by selecting the button labelled “ADD SECTION” and select it from the Type dropdown menu. Add a voucher to this widget by selecting the button labelled “ADD VOUCHER SALE”. Vouchers which have been set up in the Voucher Types tab will be displayed in the dropdown menu.

After selecting a voucher, theaters have the option of changing the customer-facing name of the voucher. They can also set a minimum amount if they wish to sell the voucher in batches.

  • In Voucher Types, theaters can also manage what items are redeemable through points (Is Reward must be selected), as well as free items customers can be given in relation to a service issue (e.g. canceled show).

View Vouchers

Access the INDY Admin Tool and go to Operations > Customers > Vouchers. This contains a record of all vouchers, the user each is associated with and whether they have been redeemed.

Gift Card and Voucher Emails

When a customer purchases a gift card or voucher, the code is emailed to the recipient. For gift cards, the customer can choose to add a message, which is included in the email. INDY will create a basic branded template for gift card and voucher transactions when setting up a new workspace. This can be edited by the theater to match their more specific branding requirements.
